Exit 6 off I-87, Get On Route 7 West (Troy Schenectady Rd)
Head West on Route 7 towards Schenectady
Go 1.25 miles and see on left: Animal Hospital, Florist and Allstate Insurance.
We're directly behind the Allstate Insurance office, next to Comfort Windows.
Turn into driveway at Allstate, you will see our shop in back- park anywhere you like!
Unfortunately, the Town Code does not allow us to install a street sign on Route 7.

One mile past Keeler Motors, see Peter Harris Plaza on the right.
The see Grasslands Equipment and Comfort Windows on the right.

Question: Does Castle Mac Service offer in home training and support?
One of the most common services we
offer is in-home or in-office training and support. It's the perfect
way to get all those nagging questions answered and to learn more
about the capabilities of your computer. Whether its questions about
email or browsing, printing or using your digital camera, we can
help!
I have personally trained over 5,000
people on various Macintosh systems, from ages 10 to 87. A former
educator, I am patient, easy to work with and I won't make you feel
silly for asking questions! We can schedule an hour and go through
your list of questions or I can prepare an outline on a particular
topic. We'll sit in front of your computer, in your home where you're
comfortable and go over your questions, one by one.
Our training rate is $60 per hour
plus travel fee (typical travel charges are $10-$20 within the
Capital District). We also offer discounts for groups- contact us for
details.

Castle Mac Service was
created in 2007 as a spinoff of Castle Computers, Inc. Mark
Bogossian, former CEO, President and Majority Owner of
Castle Computers, Inc. closed Castle's retail store in May
2007 after doing business as a Macintosh Sales and Service
Center since 1981. With over 25 years of hands on
experience, we maintained our Apple Service certifications
and now focus only on Macintosh Service and Support! Castle
Mac Service reflects our direct and sole focus on Mac
service, with Castle background and experience!
Castle Mac Service now
operates from a modest repair shop on Route 7 in Latham,
close to our former retail store. Even though one of our
technicians is usually in the shop from 9am to 3pm every
weekday, it's a good idea to call ahead if you plan on
coming into the shop. Although we maintain limited "open
shop" hours, we're always glad to be there early in the
morning or late in the afternoon!
Castle Mac Service is a
fully Authorized Apple Service Provider with a Certified
Macintosh Technician, and the Capital District's only
locally owned Apple Authorized Service Provider. We provide
AppleCare, One Year Warranty and Non Warranty service on all
Apple systems regardless of where they were purchased. We
offer certified Apple parts and perform Macintosh service to
the high standards set forth by Apple's AASP Service
Program. We also provide out of warranty services such as
upgrades, parts replacement and technical
support.

Programs keep crashing or quitting? Can't play videos or
read the NY Times web site or get into your banking web
sites anymore?
What determines obsolescence
is not your computer, but rather what you decide to use it
for. The internet, iPods, iPhones and many other external
factors all contribute to your computer needing to be
upgraded. What worked a year ago, may not work
today!
Castle Mac Service can help!
We've upgraded thousands of computers over the years! We'll
evaluate your system, recommend and quote necessary upgrades
and even provide training and technical support to help you
understand your computer better!
The two most common things
we upgrade are 1) the computer's operating system (aka "OS")
and 2) a computer's memory or RAM. Along with installing a
newer OS, we also will upgrade your browsers (Safari,
Firefox), various "players" (such as Flash, Java, Quicktime
and Windows Media Player) and several other parts of your
computer's software. We also find most computers need more
memory in order to properly run the updated software. We can
usually add one or two memory chips to increase the
operating capacity of your computer and even a larger hard
drive if necessary.
We also can upgrade CD or
DVD drives; make your computer compatible with web cams or
iPods and iPhones.
And don't forget about a
back up system! Let us set up a back up hard drive and
software to save all your important documents, email,
pictures and music "just in case"!

Pick Up & Delivery Services
We now offer complimentary Pick Up and Delivery Services with many repairs and upgrades!
If your repair is covered by
AppleCare, one year warranty or you need an upgrade, you may qualify
for free on site pick up and delivery. We'll come to your home,
office, school or college campus to pick up your computer, bring it
back to our repair shop, perform the necessary repairs or upgrades
and return the computer to you!
And, if your repair is not covered by
free on site travel, see our typical rates for pick up and delivery
services (actual travel fees may vary, call for quote).

Macintosh Technician (ACMT) certification verifies the
ability to perform basic troubleshooting and repair of
both desktop and portable Macintosh systems, such as
iMac MacBook Pro. ACMT certification exams emphasize
identifying and resolving common OS X problems, and
using Apple Service and Support products and practices
to effectively repair Apple hardware.
