Frequently Asked Questions:

Why did Castle Computers close its retail store? Contrary to common speculation, we did not close as a result of competition from the Apple Store in Crossgates Mall. Castle closed its retail store as a result of a personal decision made by its owners (Mark and brother Bruce Bogossian).

We and our many employees over the last 26 years have enjoyed the fruits of our labors and although the store continued to be a success, it was time to move on.

With retail closed, the new service only operation is called CASTLE MAC SERVICE, offering Mac technical and repair services (Applecare, warranty, out of warranty, training, support, parts, etc.) We no longer offer sales of computers, accessories, software or peripherals.

Who runs Castle now? Castle Mac Service is now owned and operated by Mark Bogossian, former President & CEO of Castle Computers, Inc. I have been working at and managing Castle Computers since January 1983.

What services do you offer? We offer on site or carry in Applecare, Apple Warranty, non-Warranty repairs; technical support; training and system set up services. Even though we don't sell computers any longer, you can buy your system elsewhere and have Castle transfer documents from your old computer, set up the new computer and do training in your home or office.

How can I get in touch with Castle Mac Service? You can call 518-783-9405 or email mark@castlecomp.com or come in by appointment.

Where is Castle Mac Service Located? As of September 1st, we relocated 1/4 mile west of our old shop to 892 Troy Schenectady Road. It's next to Lennon's Flowers, Allstate Insurance and Comfort Windows/Grasslands just west of our old store. SEE MAP

What are Castle Mac Service's hours? We are in the shop weekdays from 9am to 3pm and we'll gladly offer additional hours "by appointment". Early morning or late afternoon pick ups and drop offs are not a problem. We are closed on weekends and most major holidays.

What forms of payment does Castle Mac Service accept? We now accept cash or checks (personal or business checks). Sorry, no credit cards. We do extend payment terms (usually with purchase orders) for approved business clients.
